Ubtan is a mixture of finely ground dry herbs and clay, literally translated from Hindi as "a mixture of powders for cleansing the skin." The modern product resembles powder in its consistency, the grind is so fine that it cannot injure even very delicate and sensitive skin. The product does not contain components harmful to health and nature. In India, the tool was used in various religious ceremonies. For example, the newlyweds prepared for their future life by washing off everything old with the help of a crushed mixture of herbs and clay. On the night before the wedding, a special mixture was applied to the body, which necessarily contained turmeric - it was believed that this would protect the couple from evil spirits. Of course, modern women have no use for such traditions. But on the other hand, cosmetics manufacturers were able to borrow all the most necessary and effective ingredients and significantly improved the formula. Today, ubtan is a popular cosmetic product that is used not only by followers of Ayurveda, but also by everyone who wants to maintain beauty and youth.What components does ubtan for the face and skin consist of?
Of course, there is no single recipe. Moreover, today you can find ubtan for oily, dry, sensitive skin, etc. And, of course, the component of each tool will be different. But the following components are traditionally used:- clay
- sage, chamomile, calendula
- rice, chickpea or oat flour
- turmeric, rose powder, etc.
How to apply ubtan correctly?
- clean your skin of cosmetics with the help of a product you are used to - for example, micellar water, foam or milk for washing
- pour a small amount of ubtan either immediately into the palms or into a ceramic bowl and dilute with a small amount of water to a mushy state
- apply the powder to wet facial skin and perform a light massage
- you can leave the product on the skin for a couple of minutes, so you use the ego as a mask
- thoroughly wash off the remains with cool water, wipe the skin with tonic and apply your usual care
